QUESTION 006 - A Lesson (Year 9)

Write a narrative (story) based on the idea of “A lesson”.

Often throughout life we teach, or are taught lessons. These lessons equip us with necessary information and life skills for future endeavours. Your story could be a lesson learnt through mistakes or life experiences. It could be a lesson taught at schools.

Put thought into how you will:

  • organise the story so that it flows logically from beginning to end.
  • develop the character or characters in your story.
  • set the scene
  • lead up to a main event, complication or problem that your character faces.
  • resolve from your main event.

To gain the most points, you should:

  • organise your story through planning.
  • write using correct spelling and punctuation.
  • write full sentences
  • use paragraphs where needed.
  • select words carefully.
  • review your writing and make edits or corrections.
